Announcing the release of
2012 Row 128 Merlot

You've been waiting for it, now it's finally here!
Come by the wine shop and get your bottles of 2012 Row 128 Merlot today.

Why is it called "Row 128" you ask?

                                 Visiting Row 128

Benny took me for a walk today to Row 128 to see the view. He knew exactly where to go, quickly leading me right there. (He's so clever!) He kindly posed for me before bouncing off to chase who-knows-what. As I stood admiring the grapes, I thought about how as a Tasting Room Associate at Seven Stones, I'm often asked the question, "Why is the Merlot named Row 127?". So for those of you who've wondered the same, here's the answer .

Is It the View?
Our vineyard/winery owner and Master VintnerGeorge Hanson, has often said that the view from this part of the vineyard is particularly spectacular. After all, there's a lovely view of the lime hoodoos up in the beautiful mountains.

Or Is It Something Else?
According to George it's about more than just the view from this row: It's about the message we want to send in our branding. We want our customers to know that we're aware of exactly where our grapes come from. So instead of saying, "...our grapes are from such-n-such lot, or somewhere in another vineyard" we can say precisely where are grapes are grown, right down to the exact row.

We're proud to be able to say that we're the largest estate winery in the region. Growing our own grapes means we can control exactly how they're grown, ensuring our wines are made with only the best grapes possible.
